About my teaching studio.

Most adults who pick up guitar or bass have tried before — and stopped, not because they lacked ability, but because nothing was designed specifically for how adults learn.

My teaching studio was founded on the goal of helping adult guitarists and bassists to not only play songs they enjoy, but feel what's happening in those songs and start making real connections between what they hear and what they play, stay inspired, and be lifelong musicians.

I offer private Guitar and Bass lessons at my home studio in West Footscray or online through Zoom, using multi-cam video and studio-quality audio. Whether in person or online, the experience is immersive, fun and collaborative.

Lessons are one-on-one and built on the musical foundations I’ve developed through teaching thousands of lessons, as well as 20 years of playing in studios and on stages across Australia.

Whether you’re beginning with an instrument or looking to enhance your skills, we’ll focus on the tools and techniques that help you start making music on Guitar or Bass.

What You’ll Learn

If you’re a beginner unsure where to start, a self-taught player with scattered skills struggling to connect everything, or a hobbyist wanting more structured learning — these lessons are for you.

We use a modular method to pair foundational skills and musical fundamentals with songs from rock, country, folk and pop that help you make music and play with confidence. You’ll work on things like:

  • How to learn new music

  • How chords and scales connect

  • Building strong internal timing

  • Ear training and independent learning

  • Tools for improvisation and creating your own parts

This is not a riff-of-the-week lesson where you get random pieces of information with no through-line. It's a structured, progressive method designed to work at your own pace. Nothing moves on until it's properly owned — the pace is set by you.
