Learning guitar or bass as an adult is one of the most rewarding things you can do — and one of the most easily abandoned. Life gets busy, progress feels slow, and without the right structure and support, most people quietly put the instrument back in the corner.

I built my teaching studio around that exact problem.

I spent 20 years as a career musician, touring and recording as a bassist, playing guitar and lap steel behind the glass, and working on albums that earned a 2023 QMA award and reached the ARIA Country Chart Top 10. I’ve collaborated with some of Australia's best Americana, Roots, and Country artists, including Andrew Swift, Jen Mize & The Rough and Tumble, Taylor Moss, and Bill Chambers. My own releases have featured on ABC’s flagship programmes Grass Roots and Saturday Night Country.

Today, I’ve moved from touring to teaching, working exclusively with adult learners—many of whom have started and stopped before. After thousands of lessons, I know what they need: a clear plan, honest feedback, patience, and a teacher who explains things in a way that makes sense.

There’s no shortage of guitar material out there; the hard part is knowing what to work on next and why. Every lesson is tailored to where you’re at, drawing on trusted method books, song charts, and my own material, and shaped by your goals and the music you love.
